My State of Cyrene February 2013 thread is gone, deleted, removed from history why ? bug or intentional.
Upset spent hours and hours getting statistics and updates..
If this is the way the Cyrene forum operates, I dont want to waste many hours doing a post and then find it deleted without no explanation.

Very sad
And just a banal excuse from the forum managers... No back-up, really? Are they serious?

Yes, we're serious. This was my fault, and I'm taking full responsibility for it. I had CyreneForum migrated over to a new VPS after the original VPS it was on (The same VPS EntropiaPlanets is on) started experiencing issues. We have done our very best to try and figure out where the origin of the issues was, but were unfortunately not able to pinpoint where the unexpected behavior was origination from.
The migration was done in order to ensure that our customers' sites would not be affected by this error, and the site quickly stabilized afterwards. Unfortunately in our haste to switch over, I forgot to have the backup process implemented, as my main concern was getting the site up and running while we tried figuring out the reason behind the failures on the VPS.
Our host informed us late last week that the issues are most likely caused by our VPS becoming corrupted, and I started moving other sites hosted on the server over to the new VPS. Unfortunately, I mis-clicked in the transfer process, and rather than transferring a single site, it ended up moving across everything from the old VPS (which included CyreneForum, and thus reset the database to the situation it was at at the time we first transfered it over).
I'm deeply sorry about this, and have made it a priority to have the new VPS implement a thorough backup schema that includes moving backups made to a different continent, just to be on the safe side.
However, as much as I'd like, I am not able to recover the lost content. I am aware this is not satisfactory and not what people want to hear, but I'm simply unable to perform magic. If I could, I would.
I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused, and the only thing I can say is that at least this was used as a learning experience, and that steps have been taken to ensure this will not happen again.
