I don't think you had bad luck in the loot, I just think that the drop rate on the slightly higher damage weapons is low.

I have gotten some weapon drops but mostly lower level weapons, and as stated by another player in the post, good for small mobs on Cyrene, in team they would also work. But for solo on any slight higher level mob they really aren't enough damage, amped or not. Even the lower level mobs on...

I just got an update from players in game, the situation with the summoning to ships is still going on, MA hasn't done anything to prevent this from happening.

I agree that most people wouldn't take the summons but the spamming of the summons is what got a lot of people. As far as I know the "situation is and has been taken care of", the main reason I posted is for people to know this was happening and if people know, then MA knows. Pirates do stick...
