AFK sweat tourists!

Hello C team,
Several VUs passed away and I can see that nothing has been done about the sweat tourism on Atlas.
In my opinion this is bad for the economy, as it only attract freeloaders and price of sweat goes down due to over supply.
This is bad for new and non depo Cyrene players who expect to sell their sweat @ the best possible price.

Cyrene: from 2ped/k went to 1.8ped/k.
Arkadia: from 2ped/k went to 2.5-3ped/k.

on: Arcadia has a mission who require 10k sweat to get am passport, either u make'it or buy'it, some, mostly chose to buy that is why I believe the price on sweat is high than here.

Calypso ppl sells sweat at 1.8 all time, is not something uncommon.

regarding the sweat camp here, idk, never did, just seen ppl there and I juice 2 times on my way.

I believe if Cyrene will implement some mission to motivate the economy more than the badges will be excellent for sweat farmers.

off: the ARC sweat for badge made ppl sell sweat at 2.5-3 for few days (1-2 weeks more or less) but stopped when ppl start to not pay interest in ARC mission, because are just opportunists they want ARC armor faster and just leave soon after exactly as they did most of them, many of them. Also I noticed the lack of interest in making ARC daily's, since last change from 900-1200 badges for rank3, witch for someone who want to there even for rank 6 ( undisclosed from 4-6 ) shouldn't be a pb to big. What I m saying was so much fuss about the ARC Stolen ...ppl leaving if the Devs don't do this and that ...not coming back ...bla bla bla ...and yet they left, all I can say those who stayed and still do are not opportunists like others. Where's everyone when comes about stay and fight, not just be pathetic profiteer? Now I m sure when the guns will be released many will come whit same statement and threats " we will never depo here, all we did was to support , they don't deserve us.." and who knows what else. So I think since MindArk still think how to manage the ARC mission regarding so called unbalanced items ( the UL guns and armor ) a limited time to get them is what those ppl deserve. If they can get good, if they cant good either. No need to be in game 100 guns.

same works for the sweat farmers, if they stop the bug, u will just see how many will keep sweat here, and the sweat will have the right price I m sure.

This topic is great affect 2 things that is problematic here:
1-the unmovable weeds discourage the commerce for mind essence, I went after some force nexus once here but was a waste. Also there's the problem with the sweat free / no kill mob so in short if you want to take advantage of the unmovable mob you need to kill a few and hope to fresh one spawn near you.

2-movable mobs that can be easily sweated from someone with no or little evade have a huge problem that also affects the mind essence thing. Even is probably MA's fault someone should tell them to fix this. On other topic I used paneleon as a template, but I noticed several other mobs with same behavior. Following scenarios:
-I shoot a mob with low level gun to get it's agro and start to sweat, all of a sudden mob starts move backwards then jump back to you, sometimes strafing left of right, making target lost a constant so use of mind essence a waste
-I use sweat tool to drag mob's attention and same situation already described above happens
Why this happens. I'll take Mutated Dire Weeds as template now. When you first arrive near any mob on game since one of this year's VU the primary behavior is to avoid player than if in some ammount of time player is still in it's sight mob will agro, and that's exactly what is happening with all mobs during sweat only in random times of the process.

Botton line 2 things need to be done:
1-Make all mobs on Atlas start move again, if they wanna put some sleeping weeds all good, but they will need to start to move as long they're aware of player presence
2-remove or fix the mob evading player issue.
 
Ahh, the sweat price. :)

A couple of random thoughts, in no particular order:
  • prices you see in trade chats are not necessarily real market prices, especially on planets where 'MU police' tries to make sure no one sells their stuff "too cheap" (at the end of the day they only achieve no one sells anything at all but that's another story :D);
  • unless alternative ways of producing welding wire are introduced, there will always be more demand for sweat on Caly/Ark/RT;
  • sweat price does not affect breaking even unless someone swunts with extremely high passive costs;
  • the weed camp is still a problem but mostly because of what sort of people it tends to attract.

Not sure if there is any quick fix though... now that I think of it, weren't weak/watcher/soldier mob spawns more mixed up on the old map? ;)
 
Didn't they already mention that this was an exploit and was unintended in another thread? I just can't see risking my avatar for a few bottles of sweat. I avoid those weeds at all cost for the fear that I'll be accused of using the exploit. If you want to sweat weeds a good place to sweat them is near the Tempo weeds. They have 50hp each and miss often enough that you can easily sweat them even as a 100% skilless noob as I did when I first started. It really needs to get fixed though. Every time I go to Atlas Island there are people fighting non stop in local chat about stealing weeds, not killing dry ones, general douchbaggery, etc.

the issue whit those plants can be fixed easy by making the range attack a bit bigger, if u see other plants when try to sweat them they don't get closer to u, and u get hit cause the range of the tool has no dodge for the range of the plant, those little ones have the range hit under the range of the sweating tool.

If you want to keep the weeds stationary then do so. Sweating should be counted like a form of attack. Like the purslane weeds, you can walk right next to them with no problems, but the moment you interact with them, bam, you are goo. Put the same mechanics on these weeds, they sit there minding their own business but as soon as someone dings it, it comes after them.

Sweat is good on RT because of welding wire, same for caly. Ark it's ok because of the missions there. While Cy has the daily badge mission requiring 500 sweat, there are so few active people there anymore that it just doesn't create any real market.

Another good mob to sweat that does aggro, even for noobs is the panelions that are tamable behind the rookie area. 80 HP, don't hit too bad and give nice def skills. They can drop decent loot too occasionally.

This brings the question why Cyrene is the only planet without training grounds.
We have to jump to Zeus for repair runs and hunts.

We have brought this up to MindArk numerous times but as far as I've been told we're not allowed to do anything with space (at least for the time being). We'll keep trying to get one for us as well =)

This means that none of the space ships you had planned can be implemented either? Was hopping to have some news about that now that Arkadia has introduced the Dropship (not confirmed to be space capable tough).

The correlation is not exact, from what I understand that we'll be able to have our Imperium Fighter in the future, not related to having mobs / training areas in space.

Thank you, Kris. Maybe we can get an account bound A.R.C. Fighter from faction stage 4?
Meanwhile i ll go to the proving grounds and drool watching it from the other side of the fence lol

Good idea, but lets do it with the Imperium faction of course in the future, it also lets people come and start from scratch which is much more motivating. In fact I wouldn't even start the Imperium Faction if I was you (Kris) without confirmation on the ship so they can be released together. Although I guess it wouldn't be too bad as Arkadia had the mission long before the ship was announced but I think it would improve retention and bring many players here.

Honestly I am suprised you created and relealeased an entire new faction and badges (certificates) for it instead of one of the current ones, although there is not enough info yet to know if this is just the actual "turrelion" faction as they are based on another dimension or something.

It probably costs something to PP to add them, likewise Starter Gifts, Missing Christmas Gifts, stocking various Vendors, enabling Cyrene Graduation Armor, running Events etc...Yes, MA technically adds them to the pool (activates) probably when certain criteria is met like turnover from the planet or PP decides to upfront the cost. Looks like C team has decided not to make those investments at this stage either to make it big at evermore delayed hard launch or just slowly go NI way...

I love the theory's! Sometimes you just have to save the best for last, I can honestly say Cyrene is not going away anytime soon. From the player perspective I understand how the development of Cyrene is slim. However, from the other side the pace is much faster.
