Bug Report chief's request mission not working

i completed the mission before the vu, then 3 days later i grabbed the quest again and killed some, dunno how many, however now that i wanted to finish the mission it's not in my mission log. fine i thought, i will just go grab a new one, but speaking to the npc all i got was a message saying something in the line of "come back when you have finished the mission"... that will be kinda hard as i don't even have it anymore.

since i don't have it i can't abandon it, and since the npc won't talk to me i can't do that quest anymore.

also having this problem with "chiefs request" and "picts pollen issue"

Just go and start killing again the mission should pop back up. (works for me)

I think it's a more general thing since the new mission tracking visualisation.
I had grabbed the mission (forgotten the name) where you clean up the river south of the Zyn village, but maybe then relogged or something. Then it wasn't listed as active but the mission giver near the village tp told me to keep going. Luckily I knew where to go and what to do and one kill got it popped back up as active. I don't know if the same would happen if I'd done 20 already, but in my case that worked.
Hope the cause is found and sorted.

Same happens with all missions that have a specific area you need to hunt in , Drillbots and such.

once the kill count is achieved its back on the active mission list.
