Cyrene Moments - Photos & Videos

Since the Summer of 2005 when I became the EU Picture Storyteller, it's been a part of my virtual DNA to capture photos and video footage to share with the community. Now that I am a part of the Cyrene family, it is giving me great pleasure to continue in the same vein as my former MS9 character did on the other planets.

This thread will be all about my special moments on Cyrene, whether by myself, or with others, and I will share photos and videos of what I find as I am exploring. With some things, there will only be photos with a title to identify what they are, with other things, there may be photos with bubble text as fun chat and captions, and yet with other things, there may be brief picture storytelling if the adventure has a little story to it.

As I travel this beautiful new planet, and obviously my new home, I'm looking forward to sharing the results of my adventures and explorations ... let the fun begin!

I've been so busy with things that getting to explore the planet on my own has been a bit of a challenge, but I have quite a few friends who have been out there making their discoveries and telling me about them, and ... they have been kind enough to take me on tours in areas where they think it might interest me. The following represents the results of those tours in the form of a few photos and videos.

This first batch of photos was taken during a tour with Akbar from Soldiers of Fortune - it was quite fun!​

Beautiful Waterfalls - reminded me of the Horseshoe Falls at Niagra Falls, New York​

I love the little island - you could have a picnic there, but ...​

During my exploring on Friday with Akbar, I captured some video footage as well of a few things and thought I would share. Akbar found a Dire Weed that shoots the green glow stuff instead of purple, and then took me to those falls that I showed in the photos in the above post, so I got footage of that too.

There's also footage of the Swamp Lurkers, and Akbar having a little bit of fun with the Imperial Pilots at the Aerial Base Camp. Those guys are funny ... they wander all over the base and on top of things and aggro from a decent distance - fun to watch.

The end of the video is the Aerial Base Camp at night with the teal-colored glowy thingies that swirl around. It's my understanding from Ed in a post he wrote that those will have a significance in the future.

Love your photo Akbar, it shows just the remnants of the purple mist from the animation of the plant, and makes it look rather mystical.

Awesome photo Akbar, it was definitely a mystical place for sure at night with the full moon. Your explanation of the photo is perfect, and on that note ...

I would like to share with everyone the action video that took place where Akbar got his ATH spell:

I think the more challenging mobs will be coming later.

How about that ... I now have a friend "Ak" (Akbar) and "Auk" (Auktuma) both from the same society.

I'm looking forward to more of what you have discovered Ak, so that I can get it posted here for the community to enjoy, but of course, it's never as good in photos and video as it is in person. Perhaps what I post here will invite people to go make the discoveries on their own.

And on that note ... I think I'll post another short video in a moment of a rather mystical place that I'm sure you'll understand why it's quite special to me. I love how a certain color is used in many places on Cyrene.

This video footage was taken at night, but I wanted to get the night effect as much as possible before I film it in the daylight. This is an entirely mystical place with many of these tall towers of some sort. It's going to be interesting to see what becomes of these. I'll be back to post the day video as well.

Just as an FYI ... because of the darkness of the video, YouTube tried to lighten it up for me and it looked like crap, so I opted out of it and re-uploaded it, but I guess because I kept the same name, they kept the same pic, even though the video plays with the night scene.​

Akbar discovered this and knew it was the perfect place to take me ... wonder why?

In my continuing guided tour and exploration of Planet Cyrene with Akbar, it's good to have him along, because I need someone to engage the mobs since I can't aggro them, or interact with them in any way. I have to say that Akbar is truly a good sport, because he went through a lot just for me to get some video footage.

The unfortunate thing is ... that there are several mobs where he had to fight his way out of their bellies, and I hope that this feature will be sorted out one of these days, because it makes it difficult to interact with them.

At any rate, here is yet another video of Akbar turning on the special effects, and turning up the heat with some of the mobs on Cyrene. I really like that they are such unique mobs, and that the animations with some are rather cool.

Thank you once again Akbar for allowing me to capture Cyrene as best we can, but I know that we'll have to catch some of these mobs during the daylight hours to showcase them a bit better. Night time isn't always the best time to film or snap photos of some of the mobs, except for those that light things up.​

As this place is not supposed to be visited, the inside of the huts are not quite finished yet but looks like it is going to be a great place to explore!!
