Hey guys,

I'm sure many players have noticed the last couple of forum posts but I think the real focus should be conduct. At the time of this posting I have removed the threads in question.

Yes, we have rules, and yes, they should be followed, that being said, there will be gray areas. In that sense there is the letter of the rules versus the spirit of the rules. Everyone has different opinions, and we want everyone to feel like our forums are a nice place to gather and engage about Planet Cyrene.

We try to be more lenient in our moderation here as this game is for players who are more mature, but when posts get too out of line we'll step in.

Let's keep it civil and make sure that anyone feels that they are allowed to post here.

I have noticed that this game can have a rejuvenating effect on mature players. Maybe the dosage is too high for some :shots:

Thank you for putting an end to the drama and let's hope it stays buried this time. Otherwise one had to suspect that the zombie infestation has made it here possibly with someone's ship from RT. Btw we need events like that... would be a great topic to steer creative forum forces back onto something positive i.m.o.

Maybe post them in the appropriate section of the forum (the actual rules page?).

Posting the rules in a random thread that no one will read or even knows about does not count as having rules. Sure you can say there are rules and post them somewhere, but those are not rules, even if you enforce them. Rules must be posted with the Terms of Service that are agreed upon when a user registers, or legally they are unenforceable. Sure you can just ban people but in that case it is literally for no reason.

For forum rules to apply, they must be posted in the rules section which every user must agree to follow. Posting rules all willynilly in random sections means that no one has actually agreed to follow the rules and are also not obligated to do so.
It also means most people will never see them, which is in fact the truth it is the first I have heard of any rules other than the REAL rules posted here:

Hi, I'm new to this forum although I'm a vet player and not a noob as some claim myself to be *cough* Venture *cough*. I just want to point out that I'm a pretty quiet person but when one person starts to troll someone for no apparent reason and who also happens to be a well respected member of cyrene( Common, he's got a freakin statue of him! He can't be all that bad ;) I can't help but want to put my two cents in. Having people reply to forum threads to deliberately defame someone on his own thread about something very mundane and is established knowledge among active players makes me think that perhaps there needs to be more moderation and restrictions placed on those commentators that would cause harm. However I also realize the EU community is quick to make sure people that have overstepped the lines are dealt with in a way that's the charm of the EU community.

I've never been kicked off a planet, and I don't plan on leaving this one. Most players I interact with like me, that is why I continue to interact with them. There are just always certain people who don't like others such as yourself but I can tolerate them.

However you are breaking rules in a thread about them. Kris is trying to get us to be more civilized and you are not helping by insulting myself and breaking rules doing so.

He is trying to personally attack me in a thread Kris made about the rules, which state you are not to personally attack users on the forums. I just don't understand what he is trying to do here, other than be openly defiant of the rules.
