Getting Battle Ready

according to one of the posts by Kris ... latest patch etc Gettign Battle Ready was fixed....

I went to the dirll instructor ...no exclamation point above head and cannot access NPC.....


I do not have getting battle ready quest but have finished "in the shadows" the mission chain part before this one.... Can anyone tell me whats up with it? Cant abandon the last mission since its complete and would really like to finish this quest..... as Im a mission whore.... Thanx.. Mike

Hey Mike,

The Drill Instructor only completes Getting Battle Ready now, the start of that mission has shifted to the Drill Instructor's Assistant. There was an issue with the Drill Instructor and the triggers. This way is a little less streamlined but allows players to complete it.

Let me know if the Drill Instructor's Assistant helps with that.

no drill instructor did nothing for me as well.... I dont have battle ready as a quest... I finished the mission right before it though. Any ideas? Like I said cant abandon the mission since the parts of the mission chain have already been completed.....

Hi,
I have completed In The Shadows, but now the Drill Assistant won't speak to me anymore and the Drill Instructor popup is titled Trial By Fire and she says You should complete the mission: "Getting Battle Ready" before you come and try this one. GI Joseph is no longer speaking to me either.
I've relogged and no change -- I've noticed some NPCs become more talkative after a relog (dialogues popping up upon login even).

I get the same popup about doing "Getting Battle Ready" but I have not completed that one yet and there is no NPC offering it to me. The Drill Instructor is the only one along that row that responds at all.
(BTW, In Hammer We Trust, works for me too now.)

Having the exact same issue as Snowleopard, also completed in the shadows.
When it first happened on day 1 I just assumed there was something else I needed to do first, today tried relogging etc. then i found this thread.

Looks like a pretty old bug

Indeed, but not just Scout Bots. The wilds of Cyrene are teaming with dangers.Choices:

• Dangers? What kind of dangers?
• How do I fight the bots?

Best way to do this is to get into the thick of it. Go to the trade terminal and pick up a S.I Scorpion and some Weapon Cells. After that, come back and I will let you fight one of these old Scout Bots that we have fixed up for training purposes.

Is there any update on this bug? It has been more than two years since a fix was promised in next PP VU, and I am still experiencing this issue.

90% sure that the SI Scorpion must be purchased from TT.
Perhaps someone else can confirm that??

Still broken, the assistant still doesn't talk, and drill instructor just says the same old about getting battle ready.

Hey guys,

I have found the reason for this error!

So, this mission was changed quite some time ago (back in 2014): You no longer need to buy anything from any terminal and it's just a lot of bread crumbs to give out free gear. However, it seems that the new mission that was put in, is not turned on for some reason.

I was able to complete it in test no problem, but on live I got stuck just where everyone else is.

I'll be talking to MA today to get this mission turned back on. Once they tell me I'll test it and report back here.

EDIT: I can confirm this mission is now on and working. if you completed "Into the Shadows" please talk to the Assistant Drill Instructor to keep progressing on this short n00b mission chain.
