Hey jetsina!
Yes I have, I have been a bit busy/ill this past week. Not to mention that I didn't want to rush this reply and make sure I answered this post in way that will suit everyone.
Just taking a quick look at our blueprint recipies there are over 15 that take Yellow Crystal (not to mention more than 10 that take Refined Yellow Crystal) but that's really the issue isn't it? We're still working closely with MindArk to get more bps in the hands of the Cyrene crafters.
Yes Cyrene has been building up slowly but surely and we've all been waiting. I think that Cyrene as improved each VU and we are putting out as much content as we can per update.
Thank you! I already contacted Lykke to see about doing something like this is possible.
I agree, and we are contiuning to work closely with MindArk to iron out the “kinks” in the Cyrene economy for more players to feel like they can call Cyrene their home. I'm adding some stuff this VU to hopefully make it easier to “discover” blueprints on Cyrene. Did you know that Cyrene has over 150 unique blueprints?
Yes, it's been one of the biggest hurdles we've been working to get over for us as prepare for a hard launch (among other glaring bugs that we are working with MA to fix), and we're working towards having a stable, cohesive economy among the 3 big types of players (hunter/miner/crafter).
The token system for the main area of Cyrene is still currently being refiened by us and Mindark.
This is the main reason that there has not been a dramatic change to what the token vendors give out or the quests to acquire tokens.
I don't understand this statement. I have not seen all many hunting logs from players but I can think of 3 right off the bat: non, Thanatos, TunerS and they have all posted pretty decent return numbers (not from crafting and we see the disconnect as well), however I have seen a thread on another forum where a player sells Cyrene crafted armor plates at a decent MU. The problem is this is the exception to the rule.
I agree that each players success depends on each player's level in the game, I don't think anyone is going to do well in EU spending / shooting PEDs around blindly.
Thank you! We're trying to have more balanced item drops for all levels on Cyrene. In fact I'm hoping to improve the n00b drops as well (however it will not be possible for this coming VU.
We are working towards having many crafting chains with worthwile items (as in that have some MU) I hope that this coming VU is a step in the right direction of exactly that.
We don't really like the L shirts either, and ultimately everything that we produce that has value (either player percieved or genuine PED value) is approved by MA. I would like to mention that we WILL have unlimited clothing along with another much needed blueprint type on Cyrene.
I get worried that some context may be lost if posts get put by themselves. I'm working with Lykke to find a good soloution.
Cheers,
Kris
you seen the above yet Kris?

By the way, I bought some yellow crystals from auction a year ago in the hope I'd use them crafting. But not having used them they stayed in my auction retrieval. Now they have beamed across the universe into my inventory automatically after one year.

On the one hand - safe transport of goods across space if you wait a year and know when stuff is coming. On the other - it reminds me how long we've been waiting....!

A: this is one of the best exchanges I've seen on this forum, but it is likely to become 'lost' from sight quickly as it started as a bug post. I suggest saving good threads or parts of them in a 'best of' section.
Thank you! I already contacted Lykke to see about doing something like this is possible.
B: the three supportive posts above this one seem to support the hypothesis "If other players were more like us, they'd succeed too - it's the players not the planet that's at fault".
Quotes = "Damn i got to be different... or u guys are just to lazy?" and "i see ppl come and go and watch the best noobs grow." However, even NI permitted success for some melee crafters (maybe still does) while the rest failed. The set-up needs to make a large number of people feel that they can give Cyrene a go for a decent length of time.

The slow start has meant that momentum has never really built up, and even IF the motor were now technically sound, there is not enough fuel going in to result in more than the engine spluttering. I still say that the output from the motor needs to be crafting results - it is the driving force of the mu that newbs need to see too to a certain extent. You have added a new line with the token system, which is similar to an mu system but without crafting. Instead, good npc offers are required to keep that motor running. However, I still have no idea what kind of value the tokens are even theoretically supposed to balance out at....

Yes, I have crafted a few vehicles, and yes, they sold at a profit on Caly. My ability to succeed at something is not the point, though. This is why I disagree with the players above. PLUS, the level of expected success depends on each player's level in the game.

I know it is a contradiction in terms to have a 'mass niche', so I do like your attempts to put semi-valuable (mu) loot in low mobs too. AND low-level weaps are now dropping from the ultimate noob mission mobs.

However, making personal connections (suggested above) is simply not what many people achieve quickly. Any black market that exists (non-auction or sign-posted market) is by nature not a very visible one. IF Cyrene has a good number of finished crafting chains and drops of mats after the next vu, then you need to advertise that AND take steps to get the chains moving. For all I care put a trader somewhere HIGHLY VISIBLE who will buy mats at a certain mu and sell them for 2 % more. At least that way you will quickly see if you get a balance between supply and demand. OR buy on the street and try and sell at auction - you'll soon see if your stacks are building up!!!
We are working towards having many crafting chains with worthwile items (as in that have some MU) I hope that this coming VU is a step in the right direction of exactly that.
Lastly, if I craft, I generally want to sell crafted items that I think are worth being bought. This is not the same as whether or not other people may buy them for a while while they are new!
If I see, for example, that the crafted shirts are (L), then I'm unhappy about the whole thing. The small decay for changing clothes is enough, in my opinion. I may not even care about looting dire weed flaxen with nice mu if the result further down the chain doesn't feel right. Still, it is at least a complete crafting chain - you need more of them!
We don't really like the L shirts either, and ultimately everything that we produce that has value (either player percieved or genuine PED value) is approved by MA. I would like to mention that we WILL have unlimited clothing along with another much needed blueprint type on Cyrene.
(this post may even qualify to be a stand-alone post somewhere... who knows?)
