Mob spawn rate

Kris, I think youve over done it on the spawn rate

Maybe bring down the max number spawned by 50%?

Back on Cyrene
I think everyone prefers spawn like this more then small ones. Just keep the bunching tight and prevent roaming and its perfect

It's not just Cyrene, this is happening on Calypso too, and I assume on all planets. It's nice to have more mobs but where the spawn is already good it's become a bit ridiculous in places, there are just mobs constantly spawning and aggroing.

this started with todays VU on Caly or was it like that before?

Havent hunted on Caly much lately as I dont like their loot tables, thats why im asking
 
There have been several universe-wide increases in mob density, the last one in September 2014 if my memory serves me right. I suspect MA does this when they add new hardware to make it possible.

Now, this could work fine on planets where mobs move around like dying earthworms but on Cyrene it causes yuuuge lag. Some spawns, e.g. swamp lurkers near Panton, were laggy even before this.

For good grinding, density is pretty much irrelevant. Fast respawn and small territory (so that you don't need to run to the next mob) are way more important. That 3x4 weak paneleon spawn near Great Plains easily serves three people shooting non-stop as mobs respawn instantly.

I reckon only explosives enthusiasts are going to like this.

I understand this was done with the intentions that there are enough mobs around for everyone. I also understand the population of Cyrene is increasing on daily bases.
But why not go step by step and maybe increase the spawn rate for about 25% of what it recently was.
Current spawn rate numbers seem to have increased for 500% .
Please take a more steady approach to the changes you do to the planet.
Your planet alone had brought my enjoyment for EU back. The missions available are imo among the best in whole game. Despite that some people seem to be dissapointed in Cyrene not bringing to the table what was promised(mechs, which I really dont care much about, as I enjoy hunting just as much in my "human avatar form").

Also, was spawn increase number the decision of Cyrene or MA?

Yeah just changed today.

so that means someoneat MA needs to be sacked, since he clearly hasnt played the game.

cant imagine what its like hunting spiders or other big agro mobs.

What is the spawn rate on player owned areas that have low mob density?

I apologize as I was being a little comical of the spawn rate, I don't believe spawn rate was changed by Cyrene team. However, the information was forward and will hope to have a answer soon.

no worries mate, it seems as this was an universal MA decision and hope the player base will speak their opinion on it and it gets reversed to what it was.

Not sure I will do anymore hunting till this gets sorted out, MA sure knows how to shot themselves in the foot with onesided decisions like this.

I see you have the buttons in the screenshot, yet I cannot identify them.

On topic:
As a powerfister, I can say that melee has gotten a bit more difficult.
Please encourage Mindark to lessen the spawn size.

What weapons do you play with on the test server?
I see you have the buttons in the screenshot, yet I cannot identify them.

The weapons from left to right are:
Kriegerum G.2 Gauss Rifle
EWE EP-45 Hunter
Omegaton ASG-1 Pig
Porcupine MAP-31 (L)
S.I. Combat Knife
A.R.C. Improved Fire Breather (L)
