Planet Cyrene Boxed set?

Few Scars

Member
Hi Ed
Something I suggested in the other forums was the idea of a boxed set for marketing purposes. Like WoW and SWTOR a potential gamer in a shop anywhere in the world could see a Planet Cyrene boxed set on the shelves. The box would have a DVD containing the 10Gb of Entropia Universe/Cyrene data saving them downloading it, especially if they are on smaller ADSL plans. A small book on the history of Cyrene, a Authentication Key and a complementary Unlimited weapon and clothing item once they set up their account.
The cost would be somewhere between $29USD - $59USD and a portion of this goes on their Ped Card.
This would help advertising in gaming shops all over the world, and a new player who has taken the time to buy the boxed set starts with a Ped card with credit, a cool starter gun and a unique boxed set edition clothing item.

Advertising is the key!

Cheers
Bjorn

Hello Bjorn, this is an option we have been working on since we started. We already have several books, and items that work for this but logistics do get in the way. It might not make it to launch (or it might) but it's definitely something that will eventually show up.

We also have other plans as well that will be released soon.

Yeh it certainly seems like a "reasonable" idea but I also imagine expensive.... Plus I'm not convinced that being in a shop is quite the marketing milestone it used to be in the case of games.... still, certainly not a bad idea as a lot of gamers still go in shops even if just for the vibe or to see if something catches their eye.

An alternative would be to produce a "free" version of cyrene to put in shops and promo events give away in newspapers or magazines etc. IE a DVD box sized (but thin) cardboard sleeve with a DVD in pics and explanations on the back to promote interest, perhapse a "free item with this disc" deal.
