Planet Cyrene October 2014 VU Preview

For what is worth, I was not in PVP after log-in. The same PVP I got in the Mutated Dire area near Zimbro Village, with same behavior - shooting in the air consumes ammo, so at least that is consistent with true PVP.



Could not agree more. All those bugs and nasties like hit boxes trailing for a long time have to be fixed, and if they are not fixed me think the planet will be next in line after NI. If is MA fault being way too slow implementing patches, maybe there is a way for them to be held responsible, financially, otherwise will never learn.

Edit: revisited the area and indeed is not PVP for me anymore. So a bug, maybe I did pass a pvp area without noticing.

Zym Village is PvP very soon out of the teleport area, that seems the worse one to spawn the bug too it seems. One thing I wish they'd add all over is an audible warning when you are approaching PvP not just once you entered it. Sometimes you are busy watching mobs or mining and watching maps and don't see the Icon turn yellow then red and oh sh$$% I need to get out of here! Hearing a "Warning, you are approaching a PvP area" would be a nice touch. Possibly a 'click' to turn it off would make it ideal too.

Release postponed.

The release scheduled for tomorrow, tuesday October 14, have been postponed due to issues with the backend distribution.
(It means that the release is delayed because it took longer than expected to "prepare" the content for deployment to the live servers).
We are working hard on resolving these issues and will get back to you with a new release date as soon as everything is in place.

Hey non,

maybe missed it but are the turrelion clothing missions going to be active this vu?

The system that is needed for that mission to be active is not ready for this VU. I'm currently looking at alternatives to expedite this mission.

Server downtime for release:
Tomorrow, Wednesday 2014-10-15 at 08:00 UTC, the Entropia Universe servers will taken offline for the update to release 15.0.
We estimate a downtime of 2 hours and a client patch size of 792 MB.

None of the new systems will be introduced in the next (October 2014 VU).

How is the story line system coming along if you know?

Are you referring to the faction system? That system ended up being designed with available systems. I hope this answers your question.

We're also working with MindArk to improve some mob hit boxes for the Mini Patch.

Shrapnel, a new stackable resource, will be introduced to hunting loot in VU 15.0. Looted Stackables

The benefit of returning to that method of distribution is a reduction in the number of different items looted in a particular hunting session, as well as more a more interesting hunting experience that allows hunters to leverage wisdom gained from previous hunts. Loots for creatures on other planets will be adjusted in the upcoming partner releases after 15.0.

says upcomimg partner releases but might as well mention it here. just after you guys did a nice job with the balancing of loot ma is going to change the whole system up again... could be nice but also could wreck havoc on cyrene.

you are probably aware of it but i tend to be a bit pessimistic at times and i could see this really being a pain for a still developing economy.

hope the vu goes smooth on your end and ours. and looking forward to the cyrene notes as soon as servers go down :)

So from what it sounds like you will be going ahead with the hard launch manually monitoring the activity? Which ever way you go, it's great to see the planet going forward and I will be happy to visit it this coming week.

And I hope you reset the mobs back to the original stats. As another one pointed out, kind of funny that you have puny mobs that are almost the same stats as an Calypso Atrax :p

I understand now, you mean the Dynamic Upgrade System for the areas, yes, we will be manually monitoring that through various means =) After the Mini Patch we'll start to show off Dynamic Upgrade Map.

And I hope you reset the mobs back to the original stats. As another one pointed out, kind of funny that you have puny mobs that are almost the same stats as an Calypso Atrax :p

We do have quite a few mobs that are relatively low level for newer players to hunt =) I don't have the full stats for an Atrox Hatchling off hand but I can say for sure that many our Puny and Weak maturities at least have less HP.

Puny Pleak - 10 HP
Puny Crystal Pede, Puny Tree Dragon - 30 HP
Weak Paneleon - 80 HP
Weak Dire Weed, Weak Tree Dragon, Weak Scout Bot, Weak Sea Wraith - 100 HP
Atrox Hatchling - 140 HP

That being said we're always looking as ways to make Planet Cyrene more balanced and fun. Not to mention that mobs can and will change in future VUs.

Wow, I am liking this immensely. Please Please Please Please allow the MECHs to be UL and useable anywhere! The HUB had great guns, but you could only use them in the HUB.
I look forward to the Shops and Apartments.

So, what's going on here? When can we expect to start seeing stats on the progress of the areas being opened? What is planned for this VU? Yah yah, the new VU but we all know how those tend to work out. Just seems that everyone here of any official status seems to be 404 lately.

Is Cyrene still on target for it's 'official' rollout before the year ends? Just seems to me that something as huge as making a planet 'officially' open would have a bit more fanfare and advertisement or something.

Whats the status of shops? You need money to make things happen? Shops will make that happen, both in the initial sale to individuals and residuals from them.
