Question from Noob

Hello everyone, I started playing EU 5 months ago.
I have looked, read and asked a lot about the game and I have lots of doubts.
I like Cyrene, but I do not understand it.
Have patience please, and understand that I only ask for curiosity or need to improve.
It gives the feeling that the game (In general, cyrene included) proposes to complete missions to obtain rewards, that you could obtain by the third part of what it would cost to obtain it in this mission, buying it to another player.
Then I have the feeling that there is an absolute secrecy of the game, I have not managed to find ANY OFFICIAL page that clearly explains, weapons performance, tool performance, etc., are all data made by pages that are not related to MA of any shape.
I like the game, but at times it is frustrating and it makes you think about abandoning it.
Here I leave an example question.

The coat of proving grounds. What does it provide?
If the answer is quests, what missions do you reward?
If the answer is new things in the HUB, what kind of things?

Please, a very clear answer would be appreciated.

The coat costs at today's price 1650 Peds in tokens, before spending I like to know what I'm spending.

Thank you so much.

Entropia Wiki the best site for EU and Cyrene, over the last year i have tried to bring as much upto date as possible and whilst i was away with RL, someone added all new missions too. i am still working on further data and items

regarding the coat

There are 2 coats, the hub coat and the planetside coat
  • The Hub Coat gives 1% lifesteal and nothing else, the basement and beast are accessible without it, but in the future might be different
  • The Planetside version gives access to another mission chain, this is still work in progress and is currently unfinished by any player, i havn't added the missions to wiki because i dont have access to the logs to be accurate but i know one is to find 7 rift locations and another is 5k pvp kills, i don't know if anyone has finished the 5k.

First of all, thank you very much for responding.
Paul, I appreciate your clarifications. Without a doubt, they leave my path a little clearer.
For this I have asked the question, entropiawiki if it is a good starting point or reference if you want, no doubt. But I do not understand how I can not see in an official website the performance of a weapon that you want to buy for example.
When I say performance, I mean that I can easily calculate the actual damage I do with that weapon, a clarification that I calculate I must at least get out.
Knowing the TT value, the MU, ammo burn, decay and efficiency. (Incidentally maybe I have not seen it but in the calculations of the wiki I do not see where the efficiency of weapons or tools enters.)
As for the missions, you always depend on a player to play them, to know what reward they will give?
Do not misunderstand, when I say reward, I mean that it will mitigate the cost of doing it.
The chain of Zorra's for example, is explained and clear, but always by the players.
I feel that buying items that I'm not entirely clear how they work, to do missions that I do not know exactly what they are I do not have a clear direction in the game.

Thanks again to everyone:)

MA release very little information, it is left for the players to discover, speculate and master. so official information is sparse.

Regarding weapons, the wiki is very detailed, but the efficiency is recent addition and last night the site admin for Entropiawiki added the ability to enter the efficiency, so that data will start to fill up over the next few days/weeks. think i added about 50-60 guns that i had access to.
a useful tool on the wiki is weapon compare http://www.entropiawiki.com/WeaponCompare.aspx This will allow you to test certain combinations using the effective DPP (this is average damage including average misses and critical hits)
DPP (Damage per Pec) is a calculation used to measure the eco of the weapon, higher the eco the less it costs to kill, efficiency is kind of a small bonus to loot, there is little different between 50-60% so don't worry too much if you are choosing between say 56.7% and 57%, efficiency and DPP are very similar to each other, a high DPP gun tends to have a decent eff
The cost it takes to kill is counted towards the loot, so a good DPP weapon should create more stable returns

Missions. The missions like Iron/ARC missions give you the reward in the mission log for the stage you are on, but for further stages it does require another player to inform us
Epic missions like Zorra and the FAP are totally unknown until someone discovers it. We might know the reward is a gun or Fap but thats all. Tanhok you can see the rewards on the Trader

as to getting direction where to go, you can get a mentor in game who should be able to guide you, try to get one who can speak the same language and plays the same times you do.
The game is very sandbox, there is no set direction, you are left to find your way. some like to hunt and do missions, some like to go mining or crafting items for others to sell and others may go the free socialable route and sweat/fruit walk or trade.

This a very detailed guide for new players

You have helped me a lot, and in a very kind and clear way.

It's nice to read you. I will try to continue learning at every step and in what little I can help those who come behind me.

Thanks for your advice and the useful reading you have given me.

Information = power/money.

Finding information is key to profit in this game. Information that will make you profit will not be shared, because revealing it will make sure you won't profit from it anymore.
The absence of information is intentional, although a lot has been revealed , also by mindark, over the years.
IN the early days, weapons didnt even have stats. It was up to the players to find out efficiency of weapons, and entropiawiki didnt exist, and the information was not shared.

Instead of seeing it as something that's broken, and a reason to say "I quit" you could set out on a quest to gather your own information and finding the niches in the game that will lead to success.

Good luck.
