Just so I'm clear, what happened was that you were near creatures, got away from them, summoned a claim, when the claim happened it was underground / unable to be seen. Is that correct?
I will have to see if it's a height map issue or what could have caused the claim to behave this way provided that I have the details correct.

Yeah, I did it. So what?
Yes Kris, the claim was surrounded. so i summoned it away. I waited the 60 seconds for it to be moved. When the counter went away my radar showed the claim had moved, but it was no where to be seen above ground.

sometimes helps to equip excavator and use "next target" (from the actions book) to select nearest proper target - with excavator equipped it will be a claim. It will not help if the calim is unaccessable and just too deep under the surface, but well, may be worth a try sometimes.
I think that this was a problem of a bug with 14.7.

Could be,, But I was standing right on top of it.. 0 meters.. lol
I have had this happen to me inside a building, it shown that I was right on top of it but it was nowhere to be found, must have been below the floor where I was standing.
I don't know your specific situation but sometimes attempting (note the key word ATTEMPTING, not success) to bring a claim across a different owners land area or water I have seen issues with too. I had one materialize inside a tree once but got very lucky and it got it out somehow without being able to see it but just 'aiming' at sort of where the glow was. Sometimes doing the 'next target' thing and having your settings set to 'auto advance to interaction range' or whatever it is called can get you to a place to mine too. IM pretty sure I dont have to explain the pvp /vs / non pvp mining issue here
Sorry you lost your claim, sometimes they will reimbuse you for them. FWIW just be glad it wasn't a really big one.
