The Hub Update for hub?

I heard in game from someone that there is an update for the hub in development. Couldn't find any details about it on forum so curious if it's true?

If so, do we have any details about it? I've been away for a while so may have missed relevant thread(s), if you could link to it, I'd be most grateful. Thanks.

Hey guys,

Right now we're in the development phase of making the Hub a place that more players will want to visit as well as trying a few things to give players more progression and reasons to keep up with that progression.

Some of the things were looking at are:
- Consolidating Tokens to 1 currency to get in, 1 currency rewarded.
- Crafted Hub Armor
- PvP Missions
- New Item Rewards and Consumables
- Unique Hub Creatures / Challenges

Lilmc has been instrumental in these new ideas that we've been working on here so I wanted to give him some credit publicly for his efforts.

Feel free post post any feedback about these or your own ideas in this thread.

The problem with old hub was not many went there for pvp. So mostly it was standing around doing nothing.

These ideas seem promising because they should have more incentive for pvp. Since success of hub rests on encouraging pvp then the above ideas should keep that in mind. For example collecting lime green tokens in old hub was supposed to encourage pvp but in reality most went there just to collect tokens than pvp. So could have made it so that lime tokens arent picked up from floor but only from pvp combat.

Mindark has been trying to make pvp work for years on Calypso. They keep falling. They recently closed Orthos oil rig, because people would simply make a Line to get the oil. They changed ashi oil rig, and even that doesn't work. Space is another example of complete failure. On Arkadia people run around aND get the oil, no Killing there. At the beer garden on RT pvp is turned off. One day Mindark and planet partners might realise that RCE players are not in the game for PVP. I have seldom been to the hub on Cyrene. The only time I was there, was to get the stolen imperium armor, and the L one which came as the replacement.

last time I was there it was very boring... only a very few players actually in the rooms, and those that were were only there to grab the freebies on the floor... As for actual pvp maneuvers some have mastered the walk sideways, forward etc. so the just go in and if anyone chases them just hug one square moving around it in circles.... which makes it challenging to kill them, but also makes it slightly boring... need more 'reason' to be there for the pvp, and this game isn't built for real pvp as it is now. More area effect weapons, and/or 'traps' we can set in the hub may be good idea since targeting a moving target is kinda hard. Would love to be able to use pets in pvp too... get a zoo chasing opponents! :)

along similar lines.. how about a uber rare-ish tameable mob in there that you can spawn after so many mob kills, etc. or after a pvp streak?

Edit: it has the price of an outside Armour!
Edit: Viceroy on Ark for example will cost around the same price including MU. :)

Hey Krasko!

I won't be able to say how the homeland armor will be impacted in the future. However, the armor is being looked at to further balanced with a more reasonable price tag.

Can you please check, if it is possible to increase Duster slicer value to 50 ped?
It is the hub's most efficient weapon, but TT is very low, which makes it very bad for hunting.
