Weeds keep crashing my game

Dire weeds attack animation keeps crashing my game. The green blast right at the screen. I've minimized this by only hunting weeds in over the shoulder type view and only hunting weeds on higher terrain than me so the green blast doesnt come right at the screen. It hadn't happened but more than once or twice in the past but it's been 4 times in less than an hour today.

That's really strange, I do occasionally in test server get some lag when surrounded by attacking dire weeds but not every time.

I'll have the guys take a look at the model / animations / particles this week and see what we can change or improve to get rid of this issue. We'll also talk to MA here about trying to get whatever changes we do make get out earlier.

Appreciate the quick reply. The worst spot is north of ice plateau. There are two levels of terrain and the spawn seems to be in the middle. You're fine if you stay on one level or drop down/up before you shoot but if you just press F you'll end up shooting mobs on different terrain levels and the green will blot out the screen.

Hey Gisela,

Kris, i m no expert but i believe this is because of the amount of particles in that attack. it just chockes your video card

Took a look with one of the artists here today and the particles are a problem, so we'll be changing it for the future, I'm still waiting to hear back about the model/animations as well.

I'll preview the new particle for you guys once we decide the new direction.

i'll second that. if you fight a mob and die....it's gone by the time you can switch weapons from teleporting or getting out of your vehicle when you get back. Not talking about aggro...that's fine, but mobs on cyrene all move around like a hive of bees (fitting for Empis but not all the others). It's difficult as well because on other planets you can simply next target and keep shooting. Unless you manually shoot with this new "press F" system, you won't fire on mobs who are moving at an angle on your screen. If they are moving straight away or towards you it is fine but it drastically slows down hunting when you have to wait for them to stand still for a second before you can start shooting.
