Bug Report Dropping framerate

Jan Universe

New Member
Hi
i have this problem only on Cyrene.
when i login my framerate is about 30/s, the longer i'm around it drops to about 3/s and need to relog to get it right again.
not sure if it was mentioned allready.

Hey Jan - thanks for the bug report. This sounds odd indeed - I am not sure if anyone else have had this issue?

Will ask the team if they have heard anything about this - or/and if there's any solution.

i confirm that issue, and mentioned it i guess before.

also there are some mobs that rapes out pc's performance: skyshatters in general, attack animation when u are in FPP of: dire weed splashes, Stalker 2k, also some teleport auras.

I had this same problem, I fixed it with a different driver.. oddly enough an older one. :headscratch:
Also had to find and update my board and audio drivers before the "new" driver would work. ;)

But there may be an underlining problem as my fps on Cyrene is never as good as other planets.. so even doing what I did, didn't bring it up to full speed. :alcohol:

well it feels like the GPU memory is not managed propperly, prolly using the wrong words atm.
if it's getting clogged.
sorry, maybe some else can explain it better then me, english not my native.
it's happens like being logged in for about 2 hours to 3 hours when it starts to get worse.
and it happens on 2 machines here, both have latest drivers and so.
laptop and desktop. both have Nvidia, not sure how it goes for ATI users.

I have :). My video isn't too modern (GTX285), but on Caly I play for hours on High settings (+ Very High for distance) with 30+ fps. On Cyrene everything is great for the first 20-30 minutes of play, then fps gradually falls to 0-5. Lowering the quality doesn't do anything, it's the same 0-5 even in safe mode. It looks as if game barely uses the GPU at all at those times, because GPU's temperature and load values are close to those of idle.

What I've tried:
  • repaired client / cleaned shaders cache
  • fully reinstalled the game twice with deleting all it's files from the disk (not a big deal on 50 mbit ;))
  • reinstalled video drivers
  • tried all versions of the video drivers for the last half a year
The only solution is to restart the game, to play for another 20 minutes :)

I played on Cyrene in May-August without any problems on exactly the same hardware/configuration, so something has changed on Cyrene itself since then (came to Cyrene this week after a break).

Didn't post here because concluded that Cyrene graphics is just more complex than Caly's and there isn't much to do.

GPU's temperature and load values are close to those of idle.

can't check for sure on laptop, because they have just 1 fan for CPU and GPU, so those temps look like all is busy, but i checked desktop temps, and indeed GPU is at a comfortable 35C.

but somehow when the system is just pushing like 3 frames, it would be natural the GPU will not be working that hard, so it could explain the low temp imo.

Actually that means that it doesn't have to do anything with hardware and can happen on any most modern systems, because one thing is when your GPU is burning and melting and still can't put out a decent performance, and the other is when the game simply doesn't employ the available resources.

Agree with all the above it takes me 5mins to turn around when near the skyshatters, impossible to hunt.

yeah as i mentoined in beginning, i have nowhere this trouble only here at Cyrene, and i have even 1 more system besides the 2 i mentioned above standing around with way older GPU as you have, and even that system works still great at caly and ark.
