I have known Menace and Thoth (Menace mostly) for years, and while he (Menace) can be a bit edgy at times, he's really a great guy and been a super friend. When I saw that he and Thoth came to Cyrene to explore and get involved it was exciting, because I know they don't do things half-assed, and that it would be good for the community.
I took the time to read everyone's posts, and when they were posted, and will say this ...
Not everyone new to this forum or even me know where everything is, or if something has been reported or not, so Menace's thread was not out of order and he didn't need to be called a whiner, which really surprised me Thanatos, because we too have been friendly since the beginning of Cyrene ... hopefully still are.
When someone lights a fire there will be reactions, and it can escalate, then people will defend just to defend no matter who is wrong or right. Cyrene has always been a very friendly planet, and one I have always enjoyed visiting. I even used to be an official of the team for the first year, and watched it grow, so this uproar is very out of character.
I think we need to be more constructive when someone new visits this forum. So what if something has been reported or posted before ... the kind thing to do is respond to that person and let them know by providing the link where they will be able to access the information they need.
Taking a thread off-topic, or trying to sideswipe someone's genuine effort to provide a service is unacceptable, and not the kind of behavior that is known to be that of Cyrene. Both Menace and Thoth have years of experience and knowledge that they can share with others, and I don't think it requires knowing every little thing there is to know about one planet. A good mentor will include all planets, and it looks to me like Menace and Thoth are making a concerted effort to learn as much about Cyrene as possible, which can only be beneficial.
Planets are constantly changing, which means we all have some learning to do, so I think it would be nice if we could be more constructive and helpful to each other. Everyone I've ever run into on Cyrene has always been an awesome person, and has always treated me friendly and decently - I would like to see that continue, not only for myself, but all citizens of Cyrene, as well as newcomers, and those that want to visit the planet for a vacation.
Let's try to make this a peaceful move forward, and not let egos get in the way please.
