Then you will create an account in Entropia Universe - but with the starting point on Planet Cyrene.
You can't enter the game until Cyrene launches though. And the registration is for brand new members in EU

The registration screen looks awesome ... I like that Zorra is featured getting into the Fenris Power Armor, the exact same photo that appeared in Episode 1 of my covert operations with Senator Calvin Neff and the Zekkonians series. I hope we have a lot of new players signing up ... that would be great.

The registration is for new players only, when you register with us you start a new avatar on Planet Cyrene =)

... I LOVE this community! Nice to see you here btw! This community is a bit pissed off with all these promises and delays after delays, registering players and then they have to wait a month before they can even play, MA doesnt do VU updates every week, its like once a month recently history says (since july 2011) only 1 update per month, so Id say its late March release (which is a month after register date, which most new players that have registered will be playing another game) Big problem in March you have 3 major RPG game releases (Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3 and another cant remember the other name) you need to act before these games come out cause they will be most likely in the top 5 games of the year for 2012 if not one of them will be the Game of the Year.
So therefore because of external game releases and on a marketing point Cyrene will most likely be delayed well past its 1st Quarter Release Date if its to have a decent launch, Ive been a beta tester and did market research inside the games industry from 1993-2003 for many releases in the past even some entropia planets lately and I realise in the past some games DO get affected if they launch or release close to a external blockbuster game release, but this time there are 2 !..If its out in the next 2 weeks then its ok ..but ME3 is looming close to release.
But Cyrene have already opened registrations.. so the ball is rolling it will be very disappointing if these potential new players for Cyrene will be left in the dark for weeks before setting foot on Cyrene...Its been in development now since mid 2008 isnt almost 4 years enough ?
Question is who is buying ME3 or Diablo 3 ? - This is a reasonable arguement

I think it's a bit unfair Hon that you speak on behalf of the whole community, because we've had wonderful support through our entire process of developing and preparing the planet for launch.
I will be an Entropian for 7 years come April 2nd, and I very much am in tune with the pulse of the community, and I would venture to bet that they would rather a PP have their planet ready and fully tested prior to releasing it, rather than give the community headaches with potential issues and piss them off that way.
That said ... I can appreciate your frustration, and hope that you'll hang in there with us, because Cyrene is very close. Ed hasn't made specific promises, and has always been upfront with regard to where the development of Cyrene is and what to expect, along with providing the community with as much information and reveals about the planet as possible, which has been quite a bit.
Ed has an incredible development team, and they want it to be as right as possible before they give us the opportunity to begin our journey, and so far, everything is on track with regard to what Ed shared with this community regarding the launch of the planet ... nothing has changed in that respect.

Registering only creates your account, but you will not be able to create your Cyrene character until after the planet is launched. If you create an EU avatar now (as you have discovered) you will end up on a planet other than Cyrene, because it's not available yet.
Perhaps that should have been made clearer, and ... your question brings up a very valid point. Perhaps it can be addressed by Ed, because if you create an account now, your starting planet will not be Cyrene, if in fact you want Cyrene to be your home planet.
Not only that ... as a new player, if your intention was to begin on Cyrene and build your character there, then you will be faced with the challenge of getting your character to Cyrene after the planet is launched, but I'm sure there are enough pilots out there who would be accommodating and willing to help. We can always make sure that you get there as well, so please do keep in touch with us here at the forum.
I'm not sure how it works, or if it's even possible, but perhaps you can have your current avatar deleted and then just create a new one after Cyrene launches? This action would have to be explored, but I wish you the best. Would love to have you as a Cyrene citizen.

The planet is about to come live soon ... there will be ships transporting people from Caly to Cyrene so you'll be able to land there

Yes, sorry that we were not more clear on this about your registration opening up on the other thread. We didn't make it clear that we knew that any new player who does signup now on your site will be put on Calypso. That was the joke about your planet must be opening up today. The problem here is that anyone who does create an account now will not be able to delete it or even create another account since if they do, they could be banned from the game.
It would be best to remove Cyrene registration until planet is released since as well, all new players home world will be what ever planet they first show up on. Not good for you, but great for MA......

It's appreciated that you've shared this information, so thank you, and it will be brought to Ed's attention. Perhaps he can facilitate additional text at the registration site to give warning that downloading the game and creating an avatar now will put you on another planet and to wait until Cyrene is launched.
Lykke or I will get back with everyone after having an opportunity to chat with Ed or Kris, but that won't be for about another 5-6 hours or more, because it's 4:30am where they are right now.

I have to agree that it is much better to wait untill the bugs are fixed and yes it would greatly piss me off if I got to Cyrene and could not use a vehicle or craft with a looted BP.
However in saying that, it would also be nice to be able to give a closer approximation to the date of release instead of in the first quater.
I dont know about everyone else but I do alot of trading on the other planets and my peds are quite often tied up in stock that is in auction. I would love to be able to have the peds ready for the launch and dont want it tied up where I cant use it.
Also my society is planning a mass trip to Cyrene when it launches but that is very hard to organise when you cant tell them when to be ready.
But all in all from what I have seen on forum and other places, ED and team have done a frikin amazing job so far and I think most of my frustration is that I am like a kid and I JUST WANT IT NOW! NOW! NOW! Please mommy I really need it now.

Thanks Tony for your post and support. It's perfectly understandable how frustrating it can be waiting, but I can assure you that the moment Ed is satisfied with what he wants to present to the EU community, he will announce the date immediately.
The thing is ... he doesn't want to give a date and get everyone hyped up about it, only to discover a glitch or something that he's not happy with, and then have to alter the date. We've seen this happen in the past with things, and he wants to avoid this as much as possible.
While Ed's update post here was a bit vague, I can tell you that he's happy with something that happened and must test everything first before he can make any further announcements. However, he said it would be in the near future, with "near" being the operative word.
So hang in there and continue to support our efforts to bring you this awesome new planet.

I may have been a bit harsh in my reply but ..Ive been in a predicament on well more than one ocassion in the past on people that say a release is very close (ie.. Ed in September 2011 on FBook). The future i can say for Cyrene looks very very encouraging and as a strong investor on PP planets I am to burn a hell of alot on PED on Cyrene. I admit Cyrene is not your typical RPG, its a long term project, Im sure Ed wants a completely finished planet with everything operational (mining, hunting, crafting) and also aiming on kicking off the Cyrene economy with a bang, thats a problem with other Planet Partners (even Arkadia).
The more Cyrene has in place economic wise the better the long term aspects for growth and repeat visits from other planets, even possible they will emigrate here. Not just a planet with a few bankable mobs, Cyrene must accomodate all levels from Noobs to Ubers, Casual Players to the PED burning Hardcore Players and Adventurers. And keep the player investing more in Cyrene.. Im really hoping, with all the development and experience behind creating this exciting planet that we get repeat visitors and Cyrene will prosper.
