Scammer pirate!!!!

Master Chief

Smuggler - Hibernation
I highly doubt anyone on Cyrene is foolish enough to fall for a free summon to a warp capable ship. Just watch your boxes don't accept a free summon unless you know the owner/ship has a good reputation.

the problem with it is the window pop up in middle of screen and you get many of summons from them so you can click it accidentally doing usual staff

Doubt we have to worry, Cyrene is a low traffic zone Pirates would go negative trying to loot us :)

I agree that most people wouldn't take the summons but the spamming of the summons is what got a lot of people. As far as I know the "situation is and has been taken care of", the main reason I posted is for people to know this was happening and if people know, then MA knows. Pirates do stick around Cyrene now and at this point not a whole lot, but with the grand opening of the planet coming soon there is going to be a lot more. Last time I was on my way to Cyrene the pirate chance or chances was sitting using an exploit to hide and then I was attacked as I was passing the space station. I never take anything into space and if I have to take something from planet to planet I just pay for a safe warp. Older players may have worked out situations to combat the pirates but new players don't know a lot about EU in the first place let alone the fact that a game with a real cash economy would allow people to shoot, kill and rob other players of real money, which personally doesn't help to increase an economy, only helps to prevent a good stable economy from occurring.

I just got an update from players in game, the situation with the summoning to ships is still going on, MA hasn't done anything to prevent this from happening.

be intresting to see how MA handles this. my understanding is that the person doing the summoning is a well know pirate that publicly uses alts with a history of scamming... but i could be wrong all just second hand info.

looking forward to seeing what happens with the support cases :)

the abuse thing here is that u can be added to ship list even if u dont want that, then u can be annoyed with summon popup multiple times... and u cant remove urself from that list.

yeah sucks i have mistakenly clicked a summons before so the fear is real ;) and seen some screens where people have been summoned over and over in a few min.

plain old harassment in the second case and a silly risk in the first. really sucks glad that we are not falling victim here

As far as I know Mindark is on vacation (must soon be back though).

It's a shame that scammers are able to make the Universe less attractive to some, but it's great so many are aware of it. Makes it more difficult for them.

It's also important to inform newcomers in the Universe about these things - as I know people are - both in games and on the forums :)

Thank you.

I didn't have anything happen to me with this pirate, I am not in the player register so that might have something to do with it.
I did however post a support case about this situation happening. We are a community even if we don't want to be and if something like this happens I think it's important that we say something about it.
I hope they get everything worked out because the calypso space station was jam packed with new players that had been fooled by this pirate/player.

Just an FYI that I started this thread at the Entropia Forum since there is a section there "Ask MindArk" ... and I asked them when they're going to respond to the community. I didn't see any other thread of this nature, so thought I would at least give it a shot.

I'm on many guest lists so I get summons all the time. I have clicked a number of summons before the summons window even had time to register on the screen and had one very disturbing occasion when I was using a regular planetary TP and found myself caught up in a summons (no idea how that one happened). It happens to me about once a month or so and I'm used to clicking the X... it's enough that I try to limit the amount of lootables I have on me at any given time.

Cyrene station isn't a big pirate target yet but that will change after the official launch.

From EP-Newsbot:

Known Issue: Spaceship Summoning

An issue has been reported by many participants relating to abuse of the spaceship guestlist and summoning systems. We would like to reassure everyone that MindArk's support and development teams are aware of the issue, and it will be addressed in the next release.

Until such time, any participant found using the guestlist/summon system to loot other participants risks sanctions being taken against their Entropia Universe account, including temporary or permanent account termination depending on the severity of abuse.

We appreciate your patience while we work to improve the spaceship guestlist and summoning systems.
