I got stuck in the HUB in the railing and had to TP out, which sucks as I had a 20 killstreak going. All the same 2 players but still.

Sorry to say this is an EU wide issue now for the last few VUs I think started early this last year. If not careful you can now even get stuck in tress and on hills on any given planet

The Tanhok Trader (from Tanhok Epic Mission) does not seem to do anything after click Operate / click on him.

Not sure if opens up after you've completed the 11th Phase maybe, but used to be able to click on him and operate / See the available items and stuff.

Heard another had issues with him earlier today, they had the Token from last mission and unable to operate.

I wasn't able to replicate this issue but another player was able to but then at a later date was able to access the trader again. I'll double check everything for the next PP VU and see what might be causing the issue for some players.

Cheers,
Kris

It often happens that you cannot speak to any npc, but this has been solved for me by relogging. Prehaps that was the issue. Also that has only happened to me on cyrene not on other planets.

Kris, are they going to fix the mission counter this VU so we can see how many we have done so far w/o having to reset mission? That gets very annoying especially on the larger ones.

Thanks

While I totally agree that this is annoying I don't think that MindArk has a good way to address this unique problem yet. We're internally working on some tweaks to the very long chain missions (Stage 1 and 2 Epic missions and some of the higher level creature missions) that would allow you to update at the mission NPC but still some issues with it, hoping to push it out with the Mini Patch.

Cheers,
Kris

Ok, I am not trying to disrespect you Kris, I know it's MA, but how F##$$#ing hard can fixing a damned counter be? They have the numbers, somewhere, I killed XXX Tutorialsaurus' how hard is it to get ONE number from a database and display it in a box somewhere in the game? It's not like they have to decipher a 2800 bit blow fish Boolean encryption then apply it to next weeks lottery and see if the right numbers hit.

Every time I hear of 'excuses' like this from MA, I picture a room full Homer Simpsons with the wood pecker tipped over sideways on the keyboard, EU- the universe; about to blow up, and some programmer crawling around on the ground on all 4's with a magnifying glass looking for the 'any' key. :banghead:

On a positive note, yes having the 'mid stage' turn ins would definitely be a nice thing. That way instead of seeing 'oh god i have to kill 14K of them yet, it's more of a, oh cool only 2k and I can turn in again. A bit more encouraging. and it 'locks in' for lack of a better word, your achievement up to that point.

i dunno how straight forward it would be to enable the counter, i'm no programmer, havn't been since college, i think the problem lies with the orignal mission only displaying <variable 1> the mission name, the new missions have <variable 1> & <Variable 2> which is now the counter, this means the counter is now hidden from the old mission system and i guess the problem can only be fixed when a the mission is started.

in my opinon, the only fixes i see are

1) manually update, during the VU or downtime a macro is run which is setup to copy and pase kill count from the old to new styles, and then the mission restarted with the updated totals
2) A mission terminal or the NPC tells you what your current total is (sounds like this is the route cyrene are taking) but this depends if the NPC can be set to see the progress of the mission, as currently they see if its completed or not.

Paul Jetman Masters pretty much hits the nail on the head here, it seems to us as well that it starts from the time the mission is started. Either way though we are working towards getting this resolved to some capacity in the future.

I have this problem on my Stage 2 epic, but some weeks ago I made a support case and Ulf was kind enough to tell me exactly how many kills I had.

I have been tracking my kill count since then :)

Is there any way you can do a 'mission token' NPC. The ones that are broken and have high numbers, ie if it needs 100 kills to complete, let it run but if it needs 1K, 3K, 30K and is bugged, a person can goto an NPC who 'cancels' the mission and awards a 'merfolken token' or whatever the mob was for each kill. A new NPC re issues or the old re issues the mission, then the 'tokens' are cashed back in to an NPC who gives one kill credit for each token?

Sounds confusing, but is a way to convert the kills to something solid / tangible, clear out the mission then restart it (with counter working) then throw kills back on it via selling / turning in the specific kill tokens back in.

Don't have a clue if this could work or not, just throwing out suggestions that might help get it fixed up.

Right now we are looking into talking to the quest giver if the counter objective isn't active which he will then turn on, either way, we're looking into it =)

Thanks for the feedback!

Kris

Thank you for looking into this. A solution to get the counter showing would indeed be positive and might induce me to continue with some of the ones I have simply stopped doing.

Also, while not directly a bug report, maybe a situation report. In the last few weeks the number of people on Cyrene has increased quite a lot, but they are facing the same mission problems with bugs time and time again.

If you can't fix the locations of missing parts, widen the areas in which kills count, get tps to appear where they should etc, then please put an NPC or something up in game which actually lists the current problems to at least offer a way to lessen the frustration of visitors.

As an aside, many people do seem to be here for the badges so they can get the armour. I would both like to congratulate you on having something which people think is worthwhile obtaining, but also wish to say I am against the avatar-bound philosophy. Obtainable once-only after a lengthy process I find fine, though. Please consider this opinion as one of many.....

I could agree with the removing the avatar bound at first, if a person can only get one, ie you want it fine, you want to sell it fine, but can't 'farm' them for selling.

Lets work on fixing the plethora of bugs first though.

Hey jetsina,

You're quite welcome, we try and listen to all player feedback/suggestions/information.

Also, while not directly a bug report, maybe a situation report. In the last few weeks the number of people on Cyrene has increased quite a lot, but they are facing the same mission problems with bugs time and time again.

Many of these issues should be resolved in the coming PP VU, it appears that number of these issues were caused by a "sync" issue that occured during the last Mini Patch which caused some objects to become duplicated / misplaced / missing / etc.

However a global mission near where ships come into Cyrene to let players know about the issue could be possible in the future.

As an aside, many people do seem to be here for the badges so they can get the armour. We will continue to refine not only the faction system but the faction reward system as well.

Cheers,
Kris
