Hey guys,
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to post feedback about this matter.
I'll be going over the posts as I can with a "
summary" of what our plan will be for the next PP VU.
However, I do want to preface that I'm writing this post very candidly and there are ideas here that may not see the light of day, just sort of "
talking through" options.
If the vouchers drop for sure from that mob than it's ok as is. I'm hoping whoever told me different was just misinformed and not purposefully lying. Perhaps I am just unlucky during that particular cycle and just frustrated because I felt like I had accomplished something in getting the 200 badges to basically then cycle more ped than the entire 2 badges cost me trying to get the vouchers and getting nothing (loot was ok anyway but little to no MU on that mob so vouchers are the only reason to hunt it).
The spider bots and low mangchangs are possible even with low evader and hp in the graduate armor so even low level hunters like me can kill them. When told by another player that I had to kill bigger ones I got extremely upset especially after cycling so much on the smaller ones not to mention that you have to pay a bunch of cubes.
As always, thank you for your quick replies. I will go back to hunting them and see what happens.
I think part of the problem is that not every player plays the same way and they all have different things are bias towards and/or their attitude. This is exacerbated in a game where information can translate into literal dollars. That being said, I myself in game have run into many genuinely kind and helpful players so I hope similarly to you that they only were thinking it was that way.
I think that there should be a goal for the right level players, even possibly up to high level players, we don't want to outclass anyone if we can help it.
Also: you're quite welcome, I wish they were always quick but sometimes I run out of time.
If you do want to change the maturities of mobs that drop them I'd suggest making another way of getting the vouchers accessible to lower hunters or even miners such as it being in mining loot.
This is something to consider, however I don't know if we're allowed to put items like that in mining loot as that's sort of "
treasure hunting territory" I think. I do like the idea of alternate loot ways but I have to see about the eligibility.
My opinions:
A) the ability to loot UL and L vouchers from even the lowest tier 5P1D3R Bots? -- L vouchers should be looted on lowest level spiders/puny mang chang. UL vouchers should come from higher maturities.
B) do you feel the mob level range should be expanded to another creature type? no. Keeping them isolated insures to the player they are in the right spot hunting the right creatures
C) if you could choose other (reasonable) incentives to continue collecting A.R.C. Badges, what would you choose? change the rewards from MARIO & LUIGI races to arc badges, or incorporate a stage 3 daily a.r.c. mission line to gain 5 additional badges a day via crafting items.
So you're staunchly against players low level players being able to get UL vouchers from the same mob as L, maybe Justine has the right type of split to make everyone happy
(see below).
I do believe that there are a lot of ways we can add ways for players to get A.R.C. Badges, so these are two ways we can see about, however, we have to be careful about not making it where players who first got them feel like it's unfair. Maybe there should be a limited catch up mechanic? Something where if you have less than 100 badges you have special missions you can do for bonus badges up to 100.
Or simply choose a mob for each type of Voucher.
- ARC UL voucher 1 - Any maturity of creature A
- ARC L Voucher 1 - Any maturity of creature B
- ARC UL voucher 2 - Any maturity of creature C
- ARC L Voucher 2 - Any maturity of creature D
- ARC UL voucher 3 - Any maturity of creature E
- ARC L Voucher 3 - Any maturity of creature F
Voucher 1 is for Ecotron v.15e, level 16 Laser sniper maxed at level 21. Choose a mob for level 21 players and higher.
Voucher 2 is for Ecotron v.26e, level 26 Laser sniper maxed at level 31. Choose a mob for level 31 players and higher.
Voucher 3 is for Ecotron v.15e, level 36 Laser sniper maxed at level 41. Choose a mob for level 41 players and higher.
I honestly feel like this is really fair and a good way to:
- include all level of players
- be able to target the vouchers you want
I'm surprised there aren't more likes on this post.
Frankly, the quantity of ARC badges possible per day should not be change. This is possible to any players at any level to acquire up to 500 ARC badges in reasonable time, if they spend a their time on Planet Cyrene.
For reach the Vendor 3 with 1200 badges, players need to see a stock of the Armor L and to see a discover for L and UL Voucher
I know some players who looted UL Voucher but they are lazy to do earn badge every days. This is their choice. But the main goal for Planet Cyrene is to see players on the planet and not to see them to acquire ARC badges fast and leave the planet.
It's hard for me to gage after so much time. I know for sure there are several players who have over 1500 badges so it might just be that initial time gate for the first tier? You can see my idea above about a limited catch up mechanic.
Before, LUIGI MARIO and SKYLAB races got Cyrene mission tokens as reward. Planet Cyrene changed that for that actual reward. That reward is planned to use on the new Blueprints but we still wait the new blueprints
So it's not a good thing from my view to re-change that reward.
I think that part of the problem is the blueprints not being discovered, they have been implemented for some time however I have to talk to MA again about getting them out in a better/easier way, maybe some kind of crafting event for a suite a blueprints to "
jump start" it?
Another idea is possibly the rewards can be a bit more randomized for the best time, either a Jade Fragment or
X Cyrene Tokens or
X A.R.C. Badges or something else.
I really appreciate how you have been taking the time to get our thoughts and respond. It makes Cyrene a very attractive place. Truly for me, its never been about ability to grind the mob (skill-wise) but rather cost for potential return (and the repeatable final stages of missions is nice for this too). I like the things you have mentioned here. The example with the Skyshatter makes sense but I also like the drop rate differences. Going for a UL weapon is different in many respects because it matters less the weapon's dps since the value is in the UL and most of us hunt mobs at many levels. That being said, I don't want to pursue this simply with the idea I'm getting something rare so I can sell high. I am really glad to see the mobs related to the different vouchers will (or already in the case of Mang) be available as repeat missions. That helps give further "incentive" to keep grinding for the desired item
Thank you for the kind words.
I feel like this sort of lines up with another thread
<link> and might be the perfect solution along with Justine's idea for 6 mob types with 6 vouchers.
This feedback is appreciated and your explanation for the "
why" and "
real value vs percieved" of the UL weapons really drives home the big picture from a player prospective.
I particularly want to support that point about the right spot.
I like the potential for additional badges too.
Of course, like I mentioned, it's a bit of a touchy matter as there are players who have done that grind already. Part of the issue is maybe the information is now widely known as I think as well. It's something to look at along with the catch up mechanic as well.
All good points. My preference is the ability to grind for a specific item and have a reasonable chance to gain that item. I just crossed 1k a.r.c. badges, and intend to continue to 1200 for stage 3 a.r.c. vendor in the hub. My dilemma in doing this, is that I know I cannot solo the lava golems to gain a UL voucher for the stage 3 UL weapon, which is what I desperately want. I don't want any of these weapons to sell... I want to use them, and keep them and have all 3 to use on different level mobs. I would prefer to be able to gain them, but as of yet, and after thousands of dollars spent, I still haven't seen an indication I'll actually achieve these goals. I'm still trying, but honestly speaking, I am losing faith of ever achieving these goals.
Looking back again I think that the Golems aren't a good fit. I believe that there need to be additional changes for this so players like you don't have to feel bad about targeting loot and not getting it, AlyaDrarh makes a good point about it being more reasonable for this grind to entail mobs that are already part of repeatable missions.
So here's what I think a good solution could be:
TL;DR
I want to take
Justine's idea and make it fit in with
AlyaDrarh's idea, while making sure that players like
Aryana Ary Softheart can continue to play and target loot while not forgetting about players like
Dale Alvin Gribble:
- ARC UL voucher 1 - Any maturity of Nimet (level 8 - 26)
- ARC L Voucher 1 - Any maturity of Imperium Pilot (level 11 - 22)
- ARC UL voucher 2 - Any maturity of Imperiums (level 20 - 30)
- ARC L Voucher 2 - Any maturity of Tide Claw (level 7 - 51)
- ARC UL voucher 3 - Any maturity of Mang Chang (level 32 - 63)
- ARC L Voucher 3 - Any maturity of Rhino Beetle (level 48 - 73)
- ARC Voucher (all) - Any maturity of 5P1D3R Bot (level 9 - 94)
This way they are both
targetable and
accessible while also
belonging to long chain and repeatable mission chains, let this be almost like double dipping or a
bonus for missions you'd already be working on while
remaining something you can grind for and still make progress via these missions at a larger range of player levels.
Over this weekend, please let me know what you guys think, but to me this is more than worth a shot for sure.
Looking forward to hearing more feedback about this from you guys.
Cheers,
Kris
Edit: Not creature F, Rhino Beetles.
