How to Start your Journey in the Universe

Entropia Universe contains different planets with different themes, but when you begin your journey in the Universe, you will all start out at the very same spot; Genesis.

This is a short tutorial for new players, who wish to be a Cyrene citizens - and I will do my best in explaining, how you start out in the game and more important, how you make sure to end up at the right planet at the end =)

If you sign up today - before launch the 1st of May 2012 - it is not possible for you to choose Planet Cyrene. But just wait a few days on Genesis, explore and learn the basics, and you will soon be able to choose the planet.

But let's start with the beginning.

How to sign up

1)
Sign up through the official home page of Cyrene which is also the forum landing page - www.cyreneforum.com. Choose the login in the navigation bar, as shown in this picture:

You will be transferred to the official Entropia Universe account site, fill in your contact details for registration; e-mail, choice of password and accept the rules and age policy.

Congratulations! You have now signed up to play on Planet Cyrene!
Now you need to download the Entropia Universe Client, click the big blue button:

Bake a cake or play air guitar while the game downloads ...

In the meanwhile a confirmation mail was sent to you, and it's important you confirm your registration through the link in that.

When the game has finished downloading, you open up the client loader, choose the big Launch button in the lower right corner and a new pop up window appears:

Type in your e-mail (Username) and the password you created earlier, and login!

You are now on your way into the Universe ... But the best is yet to come ...

Avatar customization

You probably want to look unique - and in Entropia Universe there are a lot of possibilities to customize your avatar. But be aware, that you can only make a full free customization now, or while you are in Plato's Landing. As soon as you leave for a planet, you have to pay other players with the profession as a Body Sculpture or a Hair Stylist if you wish to change your look.

This is also the area where you input your avatar name as well.

You can also test to see how outfits will look on your avatar:

Have all the fun you want, changing your avatar body, face and hair style into what you prefer it to be like (and what gender you prefer) - and save.

You reached the point where you can explore the beautiful Plato's Landing and do the missions and tutorials!

Enter Plato's Landing

After game has been loading you will find yourself in Plato's Landing - and the first thing which pops up, is a window asking you if you wish to take the tutorial. I can highly recommend you to do it, since it will help you a lot in your further game play:

The tutorial will teach you how to move in the Universe, how to use the chat and a few other things (the rest you will learn by exploring your different keys - and by going through the Tutorial Missions):

11) Head to the teleporter and head to Planet Cyrene
Now that you've learned the basics at Plato's Landing, you'll want to get right into the action and head over to Planet Cyrene. Make your way outside the building and interact with the teleporter:

Be aware
You are NOT able to travel back to Plato's Landing once you used the teleporter. So make sure that you're done customizing your avatar and trying on clothing.

Oh I was getting so excited while scrolling down knowing the steps. As I came to the login screen I almost had a heart attack knowing it was just a few scrolls more!!!! To find it was only the gateway! and not Planet Cryene's loading page!

Having seen it happen (not sure if it still can happen), but I think after character design it can happen that the avatar still has the camera directed at their face and ends up seeing what is behind it, not in front and has to walk backwards to see where they are going.

So as a suggestion, maybe include after character creation step some guidance on reseting camera?

Hi and thanks The thing you mention didn't happen to me this time - so maybe they changed that?

I will go in and check though - but don't recall this 'issue'.
