Hey guys,

Re-Introducing the Cyrene TEN Event!

This TEN Event will accommodate all play styles on Cyrene: Crafting, Hunting, Mining, and PvPing.

The prizes will be distributed the following way:
Two from PvPing
Three from Hunting
Three from Crafting
Two from Mining

Here's the breakdown:

1st Prize: Highest total PED earned in the Hub Arenas (excluding the Proving Grounds and 1vs1 Arena)

2nd Prize: 2nd Highest total PED earned in the Hub Arenas (excluding the Proving Grounds and 1vs1 Arena)

3rd-10th: Highest Global PED value from hunting, crafting, mining on Cyrene (placement determined by Global PED Value)

The PvP PED value will be determined directly by the PED earned:

1 kill in the 25 PEC Arena = 20 PEC
1 kill in the 50 PEC Arena = 40 PEC
1 kill in the 1 PED Arena = 80 PEC
1 kill in the 2 PED Arena = 160 PEC
1 kill in the 5 PED Arena = 4 PED
1 kill in the 10 PED Arena = 8 PED

Avatar kills across all arenas will be counted and totaled per avatar. In the event of a tie, the player with the most kills in the higher level Arenas will be the winner.

EX: Player 1 and 2 both have 100 PED of kills, player 1 got 50% of his kills from the 10 PED Arena and 50% from the 5 PED Arena. Player 2 got 25% of his kills in the 10 PED Arena and 75% of his kills in the 1 PED Arena. Player 1 will win the tie breaker.

Prizes for the highest single loot HoFs/Globals will be awarded to individual players (no teams) for the following professions: Crafting, Mining, and Hunting.

All Crafting and Mining HoFs/Globals must be on Cyrene Specific Resources / Blueprints.

Only The Highest Single Loot per Avatar across All three Professions will be Entered to Win… Only 1 Prize per avatar!

The Cyrene TEN Event starts at 00:00:01 on Saturday December 20th 2013 and ends at 23:59:59 on Sunday December 22nd 2013. (all times server time)

We are aware that some players are experiencing an issue with the Hub Arenas and the skill over ride, however, MindArk has informed us that they have been unable after months of testing to replicate the issue in order to solve it. We have decided to include the Hub for the ten event despite there still being a possible issue. It is out of our hands and we consider the Hub to be one the most fair place to test skills in Entropia for an event such as this.

Ehm. I don't know but if i agree to kill a soc mate 1000 times in the 10 ped arena during less populated hours i win the first price? I get the idea behind it, but it is really easy to manipulate the outcome.

And just to clarify: team hunting hofs don't count?

So all we need to do to get 1st place is get Reward Token (Red) worth 70k PED as that is close to max value we could get in 3 full days. Not bad, would be 14k PED lost due to 20%. Only 8750 kills :D

sorry to say this but uber only event and winner in hub will probably be cheating

nothing to see for me here.

How to win in HUB for this TEN event?

Create a team of 5 (or more) and camp the 10 peds arena. Pick two members in team as the winners, and let them farm the token. With 2k peds loss from each player, they can generate up to 10k peds loot (pay 2k peds for each chronicle part is a deal). Because we are equal strong in HUB, no single player or smaller team can win this organised team easily.

That is my 2 pecs, too easy to cheat in this event. Hub was a failure (due to the greedy 20% cost, lack of creativity) and this one will fail again.

There is actually no unfair play possible this time. It is PVP, teaming is allowed but only the player with the highest amount of PED earned will be the winner. If you can get a good pvp team that can hold 10 ped arena for 3 full days against other players then I can only say gratz as that would not be easy for sure. Getting enough players and also be online that long is a challenge.

I'm not too sure what can be done about this. It's basically players co-operating to win. It's happend before in real life and virtual.

For example the famous football match where both teams just stood there and just tapped ball at the start. Since both teams only needed a draw to go to next round they both mutually agreed to do nothing :)

There is the famous Landgrab or some pvp even in past on Calypso where all the major teams decided beforehand who would get what and so they just co-operated not to fight each other :) it was an epic battle in a way in which hardly any shots were fired :D

Co-operation is even encouraged by game developers so this can lead to tricky situations like this for pvp. I suppose the 5 man team nln mentioned could be defeated if someone had same strategy but with a bigger team. So essentially the team using this co-operation strategy with the most members is likely to win...

Is the Cyrene TEN Event still on schedule to be held Dec. 20th-22nd? I've been doing alot of advertising and want to ensure it isnt under false assumptions. Also attempting to get radio coverage and perhaps dedicated flight schedules. Thanks!

Agreed. imo it will be great war where a little group cant dominate :nono2:

Unfortunately MindArk has NOT agreed to this TEN Event so it will not be held this weekend. We will be contacting them to set something up for next week.
