State of Planet Cyrene - July 2013 Community Address

Greetings all ..

On July 1 Cyrene is going on 14 months old in a few days and after today's Mini-Patch we will for the first time be able to shift Cyrene up to the next gear, for new players and old.. Thanks to the dedicated small playerbase :), after this update today we as a community move Cyrene into next phase.

Alot has happened over the past 14 months and now that it is approaching the holiday season for Mindark, we as a community have 2-3 months to make Cyrene better. The developers have now given us our tools to progress further. Hunters , Crafters , Miners ; all with things to skill and do on Cyrene to advance to the next dynamic unlock and closer to the hard launch phase.

During the soft launch phase we have gone through the tough times and the fun times making Cyrene 'The Players Planet' and the Cyrene Community thanks all the visitors that have helped Cyrene advance further, especially the visitors that have turned into geniune Cyrene colonists.

Personally I think the Cyrene developers should be commended for interacting with their colonists and listening to our feedback and suggestions, this in turn creates a bond between the people (the community) and the government (the developers) which rarely happens in any MMO. Its normally the developers that create the product and the players use the product and create income for the developers. In the case of Cyrene its designed like the players 'Choose Your Own Adventure', in essence its the players that choose the future, as long as it fits the storyline thats layed out or nature of Cyrene's evolution which is up to the players to decide which path to take.

Alot of MMOs (even other Entropia Universe Planets) have wasted areas with hardly no activity or player interaction going on, because the planet is built way too big for the current playerbase, Cyrene could be said the same also, however.. In May 2012 Cyrene was nothing more than just a shell of a planet, populated with spawns of mobs that overran most of Cyrene, One Blueprint Book and only 4 general ores (some rare ones as well) Lysterium , Oil , Yellow Crystal and Zorn Ore.

The colonists arrived as well as the farmers checking out what can be discovered quick so they can get the rare loots then leave (just like Arkadia, Next Island and Rocktropia), the mobs were all easy to kill, many mobs didnt even know how to attack the visitors, there world was over run by a new force, however in Cyrene's Case many people visited and left, leaving the mobs to keep roaming the lands. Only a few colonists remained when times were bad... this was the original shell of the planet.

Hi Agis :) This is exciting indeed and thanks for your update!

It is also thanks to the great community that we have been able to pull things along the way and update things to your satisfaction.

You have all been and are a great asset - helpful, understanding ... patient :D and we appreciate all the inputs from you guys and girls - good as bad. Good because it's great when something succeed and bad, because that gives us room to be better and develop in the right direction!

Exciting times are over us ... and we are looking forward to be sharing it with you!

Thanks for being here - looking forward to see more of you in future :bye:

One thing bothers me since the VU. Many of the newcomers can not even respond to a friendly "hi" or "hello".
Because you realize no matter who is at Cyrene long time and who is not.
I will continue to greet everyone and not give up hope.

... some new people are quite shy and other's might not know if you say hi to them or another person - and yet others don't know how to reply :)

Saying hi to people is always a nice start =)

The world is full of different personalities, I have played EU for many years, but I never, or very rarely say "Hi" to an other player first. If someone says something to me I often respond back, but not the talkative type of guy. :)

Travelling through time...
Hi!(oh no, someone says something.....)
To be honest, I'm so used now to the fact that I rarely see anyone on Cyrene that when someone starts a conversation with me and is in a chatty mood I'm like "grrr...need to find some excuse to stop talking..." :D

Part 2 : Arrival of the First Colonists

After the initial force came and went, the creatures that roamed this world learnt that this planet is no longer a paradise, they had peace and harmony after the great war came to an end long ago, The Tanhok Royals returned to their home in the sky, the Turrelions (what was left of them) returned to their city in ruins with sand storms eroding there once proud capital, the Zekionnians made there habitats amongst the wild underbrush, The Zyn Kimbo tribe becoming nomads around Cyrene.

While the Imperium Government looking like still in charge of Cyrene, City of Janus looking grand, like its never been touched by the great War. The Tanhok Zik preparing to go underground once again knowing that they need to re-build there forces, and the Sons of Remus still sending the fear of yet another War maybe on the horizon.

A few weeks after the arrival of the first colonists and the farming community after riches and rewards vacated the Cyrene system... disappointed.... that it was not what they expected, little did they know this planet was in the state of evolution and only with hard work and dedication the planet will create its own riches and rewards not based on just pure luck.

The first colonists of this world were welcomed by the Acacia Rebirth Corps movement known as rebels to the Imperium. Little did the Imperium know that ARC is re-building, Situated in a dense underbrush hidden away on the Central continent few remaining colonists arrived and began there new hard life working for ARC, Gifts of a S.P.E.A.R land vehicle to give the colonists movement around this continent to complete special tasks in rebuilding the movement and possibility gaining the respect of rival factions who are also against Dictator Senator Neff and his Imperium Government.

As a new colonist i learnt many things just by doing daily tasks and explorig this wonderful world, little did we know that just a few colonists could lead to a chain of events that could make Planet Cyrene start to evolve.. was it magic or something in Cyrenes atmosphere, maybe even from creators above...on May 29th 2012 we finally learnt - Cyrene was different !
