What should Cyrene focus on next?

Dear Fox,

I remember the guides and thought that was a great idea to have skilled people in game advising newcomers (or old-timers) whenever there was questions, and as we know - there are a lot ;) I was sad too when the program got removed - but I'm guessing MA had good reasons for it - one of them being the possibility to have disciples - the other was the intro of a more throughout working newcomer area.

Regarding the Hard-Launch - I really really wish I could give you any news about this. Fact is that other things got higher prioritised - including fixing bugs in between VU's and patches. So for now we have been (and are) running it slow but more safe. Instead of having a lot of things going wrong in one go, we fix the smaller issues as they come when new things are implemented.

Cyrene is a planet were you can really use the term 'dynamic'. It is depending on people's activities and actions. By those it will grow, change and develop.

I can only say, that one thing hardly stands alone - and that things still need to be 'finished' or 'wrapped up'.

Unfortunately that's all I can say at this moment - because time will tell when it's 'safe' enough to have a hard launch.

About the PVP - it's a large part of the planet to have the whole PVP 'game'. Ed Robles mention this too in an interview before the planet was launched. There are a lot of areas though, where you do not find PVP. It's a choice, not a must ;)

Would you mind giving us some idea of which bits are actively 'dynamic' and which are simply unfinished?
It's like customers going into a restaurant. The lights are on, but there is no waiter. What are they supposed to do - 1000 daily token missions for him to appear, or is he simply not implemented yet?
And every vu when something moves a bit forward we discover the next problem: no plates for the food.... no food even, so nothing you can order even once the waiter comes.

The only crystals I am finding now with the tt finder is yellow: no green, orange, red, blue .... have they run out, or something? Should this forum become a place where colonists can share what ISN'T moving? Must we all be asking the other customers in the restaurant what the kitchen has got available on Cyrene right now? It's also not really much consolation that I'm getting oil, oil, oil for my 5 pecs a probe. Cyrene isn't a restaurant with a menu, it's a petrol station and the pump is set to a drop an hour awaiting further updates to what? - 2 drips an hour when it has evolved some more?

What does vu stand for anyway? Vake up?! Please do! I'm not writing with irony because I want you to fail - I'm just mightily UNimpressed by your last answer (again). I hope other people reading this can get the message across with more diplomacy and empathy than I can, and my irony is just scratching the surface.

Ahoy! I just wanted to weigh in on this bit as we're not happy with lack of ores and enmatters on Cyrene currently and are working with Mindark to improve the chance to find Cyrene specific ore and enmatter and less of a chance to find oil and lysterium. This goes double for loot and blueprint discoveries.

Cheers,
Kris

We are all frustrated with the lack of movement from Cyrene. I really think they should bite the bullet and launch it. There is never going to be a "SAFE" time as MindArk causes bugs with every release and it seems they have a tight leash on what PPs can put in game.
There are lots of BPs for a few interesting items, the ingredients are hard to find however. Cyrene team, just launch the bloody thing, don't worry, we are very capable of letting you know about the bugs as they occur :) Lets get this ball rolling!

I'm going to have to agree with Few Scars on this one, it cant get any worse then mining now and i doubt Cyrene is capable of breaking revives all over Cyrene at once which cause us to cartwheel in the abyss of eternal ma support revive.

Hi Few Scars (& the rest of you of course ^^)

It is true things have been 'standing still' - or at least on the forums, and we apologize for that. But I can assure you that things have not been standing still behind 'scenes'. The Cyrene team is working on several things - some which could not be released earlier until other things have been fixed - and within very long there will be an official update about the future contents and were we're headed etc.

I know all the waiting time sucks, but we really are trying to make everything fit and work out as it should from our end, to make sure we can deliver and release all the things we have planned for you guys and Cyrene =)

Thanks Lykke
We are all very keen to see Cyrene move ahead and develop! I had a look at the Creative Kingdom website the other day and couldnt see any reference to Cyrene. It appears to be a large international company. I know Arkadia studios is starting to advertise heavily in Asia, where does Cyrene plan to advertise?

Hmmm.... Looks like the book I wrote here has been removed. Oh well. :) Win some, Lose some. :D

From a crafting point of view...

The items are sometimes hard to come by, do this mission to get this, then you need to do it twice cos the BP requires it, then do something else to get this. All of the info needs to be looked up, and in the end it can cos far more ped than people are willing to spend. Not that people wont spend the ped, just not for the first bit of low end stuff that comes out.

Cyrene's wares need to be pumped out, encouraging people to try and make them and make the stuff required for them. people see good wares coming from a planet, they will want to go there and do it themselves.

what i'm saying is, it should be easier to make the stuff and get the mats required. Just hunt this to get mat A, and mine to get Mat B etc, like on caly BP's. Instead of needing tokens to get this and that. There seems to be too much focus on trying to keep people there using this token system. If a planet is good, it will standup on its own, people will want to come and stay. Take a low end crafters perspective, who wants to log on after work, spend a couple hours getting mats, and being able to craft the items afterwards. Make it too hard, needing to look at detailed walkthroughs, mission after mission, and they give up, can't be bothered cos its too much hassle.

Example.. Basic filters, and easy BP that anyone can craft, easy to get mats, fun for all. The easier it is, the more people will do it, the more people you get on planet, the effect compounds, before you know it, population is booming.

Who cares if they take the wares to another planet to sell? as I say, ifs its good it doesn't matter, the planet will standup on its own.

I just did my first trip back to my home planet of Cyrene in a while, and its barren, almost no one there. This is bad.

I dream of the day I can come and stay permanently on my home planet, this day is a while away. Things need to change. Caly is the best example of how to do things, with Arkadia a close second. Please look at what they did.

On a side note, i'm getting internal error messages pop up all the time about quests, they come in groups of 3-9 at a time, each one has to be clicked to get rid of it, and this happens every few minutes. I did raise a support case, they did nothing to resolve it. Bad MA.

This was probably the worst timing for a post like this, BTW from my view as 'A Crafter' you can easily compare Basic filters to Bonding Liquid BP. Materials are super easy and have big deposits around Cyrene just have to know where to get them. and as for token system to craft things? so far that only works on Scout and Special Op Armor, i got literally dozens of other bps 'Cyrene' that don't use token system. Also if yu haven't noticed either bad timming on your behalf or you went in all the wrong areas of Cyrene, Cyrene unique avatar population has already improved by 3 times as the Cyrene Ten Event is coming up you can catch alot more people at ARC HQ 'Trade Hub' of Cyrene or at the proving grounds in the Hub. And if you want to see realy Cyrene progress pay close attention to the Auction, Auction pages steady 12 and more counting will tell you alot. Personally dead planets would be approximately 4 pages or less, and if you like try to catch up with a Cyrene based society that can guide you in the right direction of where the magic is on Cyrene 'Syndicate of Fenris'.

The Chief

I hope your right Master Chief, i cant see it myself, this visit I could count the people I saw on one hand, hence why it was the right time to share an honest opinion.

I think this will help. =)

One of the things that's really important for a planets economy are blueprints. You gotta have lots of them and keep making new ones. Even if the player base is small, if the planet has some good bps to click, higher end players will do the hunting, mining and crafting just to get the end product and export it.
So basically keep the blueprints coming
